Kristen and Segun said “I Do” at Saxe Gotha Presbyterian Church on June 9, 2012. They are a beautiful couple (inside and out) and you can clearly see the love between them anytime they look at each other. (Check out the first dance photos below).
We started the day at the Columbia Marriott (where the reception was also held) photographing Kristen getting dressed for the big day. I just love the feeling of anticipation in the hotel suite filled with her closest friends and family helping her prepare for one of her life’s biggest moments. And, of course, she’s stunningly beautiful, so you can’t go wrong there!
One of my favorite moments in the day was shortly after the ceremony when we were taking pictures, Segun referred to Kristen’s mom as “mom” and not “ma’am” as he had been calling her. She smiled a beautiful big smile and said “I like that! I went from ma’am to mom just like that!” What a powerful moment to demonstrate the joining of these two young lives.
Following the ceremony, Kristen & Segun took a quick ride back to the Marriott in a Hummer Limo, and then a walk across the street for us to snap a few images near the Columbia Museum of Art, and then the real party started. A great time was had by all!
